Don't Forget the Dog
Claire Smyth is the owner and the inspiration behind Northern Ireland’s Don't forget the Dog. Having worked in corporate industry for over 20 years it was time to make a change and follow a passion that is close to her heart, man’s best friend. Her Irish Setter Abbey could also be the cause for the change in career. “I decided it was time to create some quality luxury dog accessories such as bandanas, dicky bows in rich tweeds we then very quickly ventured into collars and leads”.
“Our products are handmade and designed by myself and are inspired by our rural Irish landscape". "Tweeds stand up well against our weather here and have a lovely traditional classic appearance, its great to meet so many dog owners who are devoted to their dogs, my products allow them to show them their affection”. "As a nation of dog lovers with more and more people finding the benefits of having a dog in their life, its a great time to introduce these products".
"I myself was always looking for nice high quality products as I struggled often to find nice collars and accessories for my own dogs, I wanted to bring some local luxury dog products to market, something a little superior, well made and with a touch of class". "I think we all see the pleasure our dogs bring us and feel compelled to give them something back" she laughs! "We are all continuing to spend more and more of our money on our pets and they deserve nice things , I seen a window of opportunity to do something I would take great pleasure in". "I just love the thought of people spoiling their dog with one of my products"
